A nurse sentenced to 2-year house arrest in Urgench for accepting $2,000 bribe
She demanded $2,500 in exchange for employing a citizen, and was caught red-handed while receiving $1,500 and 5.5 million soums.
According to the court documents, G.A. worked as a nurse in the intensive care unit of the maternity hospital of the Urgench city medical association. At the beginning of April 2023, she promised to employ citizen I.O. as a nurse in a hospital in Urgench through her acquaintances working in a high position, demanded $2,500 for her “service”. The medical staff was caught by law enforcement officers while receiving $1,500 and 5.5 million soums.
The court sentenced G.A. taking into account her full confession of guilt and sincere remorse for her actions, her marital status and the presence of 2 children, the absence of damages in the case, and the fact that she had no previous convictions.
According to the judgment, G.A. was found guilty of committing the crimes under Article 25,168, Part 1 and Article 28,211, Part 1 of the Criminal Code. She was sentenced to 2-year restriction of liberty in accordance with Article 59 of the Criminal Code.
