“Proposal to simplify issuing visas for Uzbek citizens is being studied” – PRC ambassador
We have a strong desire to do so, but these issues should be discussed and agreed upon by experts, said Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yu Jun. The ambassador also expressed gratitude for the 10-day visa-free regime introduced by Uzbekistan for Chinese citizens.
On October 27, a briefing was organized by the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan in Tashkent. Within the framework of the event, the Chinese Ambassador Yu Jun, in response to the questions of media representatives, touched on the issue of introducing a visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and China.
“There are proposals to ease the visa procedure for citizens of Uzbekistan to China. Now the Chinese side is carefully studying this issue.
First, we will hold consultations at the level of foreign ministries in the coming months. We have a strong desire to do so, but always need to discuss and agree through experts. The procedure for obtaining a visa will be eased, and later other issues... we are ready to consider this issue,” the Kun.uz reporter quoted the Chinese ambassador Yu Jun as saying.
The Chinese diplomat also expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s introduction of a 10-day visa-free regime for Chinese citizens, which increases the flow of tourists from China.
In November of this year, the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and China on mutual exemption from visa requirements will come into force. According to it, Kazakh citizens will be able to stay in this country without a visa for 30 days from the moment they cross the Chinese border. The same rule applies to Chinese residents.
