Kyrgyzstan ratifies agreements with Uzbekistan in field of prevention and response to emergency situations
President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov signed the law “On the ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the field of prevention and response to emergency situations”, which was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan on November 29, 2023.
The agreement is aimed at organizing cooperation in the field of prevention and response to emergency situations, reducing the risk of natural disasters, ensuring preparedness and response to possible emergency situations, as well as providing mutual assistance in eliminating the consequences of natural and man-made emergencies.
The Agreement will also make it possible to jointly and quickly resolve issues related to liquidation of the consequences of emergency situations, exchange experience, information and technologies, as well as train specialists in the field of emergency management in educational institutions of the two countries, carry out joint projects in the field of protecting the population and territories from emergency situations natural and man-made for the benefit of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
