Statistics Agency provides data about main causes of death among people in Uzbekistan
According to the Statistics Agency, more than 172,800 deaths were recorded in Uzbekistan last year.

“Around 95 thousand of the deceased were men and 77.8 thousand were women. 93.6 thousand deaths were registered in urban areas and 79.2 thousand – in rural areas,” the agency said.
It is noted that 8.8% of those who died were younger than working age, 24.6% - of working age and 66.6% - older than working age.
According to the department, 61.1 percent of the deaths recorded last year were caused by diseases of the circulatory system.
Other causes of death:
— 10.8 percent - tumors;
— 5.5 percent - diseases of respiratory organs;
— 4.8 percent - circulatory system diseases;
— 4.1 percent - infectious and parasitic diseases;
— 1.3 percent - diseases of digestive organs;
— 12.4 percent - other diseases;
— 4.8 percent - caused by accidents, poisoning and injuries.
Last year, the largest number of deaths was recorded in the Samarkand region - 19,388, followed by Fergana (18,658), Kashkadarya (16,424), Andijan (15,877), Tashkent (15,537) regions and the city of Tashkent (15,616).
