Uzbekistan extends aid to the people of Jalal-Abad amid power outages
Uzbekistan has delivered 20 tons of liquefied gas from Andijan to support the residents of Jalal-Abad region, who are currently facing electricity supply disruptions.
The Jalal-Abad region in Kyrgyzstan has been experiencing problems related to electricity supply, witnessing frequent outages. In response to the difficulties faced by the people in the area, Uzbekistan has reached out with a helping hand, a source from the Andijan regional administration informed Kun.uz.
According to the source, on February 3, a consignment of 20 tons of liquefied gas products was transported from Andijan to Kyrgyzstan. Representatives including the Deputy Head of the "Hududgazta'minot" JSC Andijan regional branch, took the cargo across the border to Jalal-Abad's electric networks company in nine trucks. At the border, they were met by the Deputy Head of the Jalal-Abad region electricity company, Damir Tukhtagulov.
It was previously reported that this assistance initiative was ordered by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov had informed his Kyrgyzstani counterpart during a phone conversation.

As a reminder, on the night of February 2, an explosion occurred at the thermal power station in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek, severely injuring three people. It is estimated that it will take 5-7 days to remedy the consequences of the blast.

Uzbekistan's prompt assistance underlines the strong neighborly ties and solidarity shared between the two nations, as it steps in to provide support during the energy crisis impacting Jalal-Abad.
