Criminal case initiated against leadership of Toshshahartransxizmat

Following operational investigative activities in the transport sector conducted by the State Security Service, a series of legal violations have been identified within the system of Toshshahartransxizmat JSC.

It was reported that the chairman of Toshshahartransxizmat JSC, D.A., the chief engineer A.A., and the heads of the 1st and 8th bus depot branches, T.D., and I.B., colluded to embezzle spare parts and fuel products from bus depots, thereby causing substantial economic damage to state interests.

Currently, the Investigative Department of the State Security Service has initiated a criminal case against the responsible officials of Toshshahartransxizmat JSC and others under Article 167 (embezzlement or misappropriation) and Article 209 (office forgery) of the Criminal Code. Pre-trial measures in the form of detention have been applied to the chairman and chief engineer of the JSC, as well as to the heads of the 1st and 8th bus depot branches.

It should be reminded that at the beginning of February, the chairman of Toshshahartransxizmat JSC (who also served as the head of the Tashkent city main department of the Ministry of Transport), Anvar Jurayev, was reported to have been detained.

Anvar Jurayev served as chairman of Toshshahartransxizmat during 2017-2018, was briefly removed from his position, and was reinstated to the same position in 2019.
