Tashkent ranks 3rd in the world in terms of air pollution
On February 23, Tashkent ranks 3rd among the world’s major cities in terms of air pollution.
According to the IQAir portal, around 07:30, the concentration of small PM2.5 dispersed particles in the air of Tashkent was 172 μg/m³ – this indicator is classified as “harmful”.
The first place in the rating was taken by the city of Lahore in Pakistan – the concentration of PM2.5 dispersed particles is 180 μg/m³. The Indian city of Delhi is on the 2nd place – 173 μg/m³. Yangon (Myanmar), Hanoi (Vietnam), Karachi (Pakistan), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Chiang Mai (Thailand), Calcutta (India), Tehran (Iran) also occupied the top ten in the ranking.
According to the World Health Organization, it is PM2.5 that poses the greatest threat to health among air pollution indicators.
On February 21, Tashkent took first place in the list of cities with the most polluted air in the world.
