Tashkent's public transport staff member faces jail for harassment
In the city of Tashkent, a bus ticket collector was found guilty of persistently making lewd advances and offering to engage in sexual acts with a female passenger. The court sentenced the accused to three days of detention.
On March 4, the Uchtepa district criminal court of Tashkent city delivered the verdict against the ticket collector of bus number 9t for proposing sexual relations to a female passenger.
According to a report by Gazeta.uz, during the court session, the woman testified that the ticket collector, I.A., born in 1996, repeatedly made statements degrading her honor and dignity, and despite her stating that she was married, he continued to proposition her for sexual relations. She demanded appropriate legal sanctions against him.
During the session, I.A. fully admitted to the aforementioned misconduct, expressing remorse for his actions and pleading for leniency.
The court found I.A. guilty of perpetrating an act of lascivious behavior as stipulated in part 1 of Article 41-1 (Lewd Molestation) of the Administrative Liability Code and sentenced him to three days of administrative detention according to the same article.
