A branch of Kazakhstan’s Auezov University to open in Chirchik

Education in the branch on 18 specialties is planned to begin in September of this year.

On March 9, a presentation of the branch of the South Kazakhstan Research University named after M. Auezov took place in Chirchik, the Kazakh Embassy in Tashkent reported.

The event was attended by Ambassador Beybut Atamkulov and Uzbek Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbay Sharipov. The guests were introduced to the programs that are planned to be launched at the university branch and its plans for the future.

Auezov University is planned to open in Chirchik in September of this year. It is planned to provide education on 18 industrial, technical and business specialties.

List of programs that will be presented at the future university:

•  economy;
•  jurisprudence;
•  international law;
•  biotechnology;
•  ecology;
•  information systems;
•  automation and control;
•  mechanical engineering;
•  transport, transport equipment and technologies;
•  electric power industry;
•  chemical technology of inorganic substances;
•  chemical technology of organic substances;
•  oil and gas business;
•  metallurgy;
•  food safety and engineering;
•  technology and design of textile materials;
•  production of building materials, products and structures;
•  life safety and environmental protection.

The opening of a branch of Auezov University was provided for by the roadmap drawn up in 2022 following negotiations between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The agreement on its creation was signed in the fall of 2023.

For information, South Kazakhstan University named after Mukhtar Auezov (Auezov University) was created in 1943. The university offers training in 301 educational programs for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.
