Mirziyoyev congratulates Putin on his victory in presidential elections

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Monday congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on his “convincing victory” in the elections held in recent days, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

“The message from the head of our state notes that the high voter turnout and the results of the voting once again clearly demonstrated the unconditional trust and strong support of the population for the political course and program of socio-economic reforms of Vladimir Putin,” the report reads.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished Vladimir Putin “good health, prosperity and great success in his government activities, and peace and prosperity to the people of Russia,” the press service added.

Voting in the presidential elections in the Russian Federation took place from March 15 to 17. Vladimir Putin, who has been president since 2000, was re-elected for a fifth term.

As of Monday morning, according to the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation (based on the results of processing 99.67% of ballots), Vladimir Putin received 87.32% of the votes, Nikolay Kharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – 4.3%, Vladislav Davankov from “New People” – 3, 82% and Leonid Slutsky from the LDPR – 3.2%.
