Karakalpakstan to host Aral Sea Eco Race
On April 18, the Aral Sea Eco Race will be held in the city of Muynak, designed to encourage the desire to protect the environment and restore the Aral Sea by planting trees to create a park, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change reported.
The total distance of the eco-run will be 2 km. According to the concept, participants start and run 1 km to the tree planting site. Each participant will have a unique chip assigned to their personal number, which will register the fact of planting a tree. After this, participants return to the starting point (distance 1 km). At the finish line, each participant will receive a medal in the form of a symbolic tree in recognition of their participation in the nature restoration project.
The fastest 3 men and 3 fastest women will be awarded memorable prizes at the awards ceremony after the race.
The Aral Sea Eco Race not only promotes health and physical activity, but also encourages responsible behavior towards the environment and active participation in its protection.
