Mirziyoyev expresses condolences to Tokayev over recent flooding tragedy in Kazakhstan
On April 23, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
According to the presidential press service, the leader of Uzbekistan expressed his condolences to the brotherly nation of Kazakhstan regarding the casualties caused by the widespread flooding across the country.
It was noted that such natural disasters are a consequence of the adverse climate changes observed in the region lately. An agreement was reached to continue close practical cooperation in this regard.
The presidents discussed urgent issues regarding the further expansion of the good-neighborly, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan within the framework of implementing the agreements reached at their recent meeting in Khiva.
Regional issues of significance and the agenda for the upcoming high-level meetings were also reviewed.
