SSS prevents circulation of more than $70,000 in counterfeit cash

The State Security Service prevented the circulation of counterfeit $71,200 in Tashkent city and Tashkent region.

An urgent operation was carried out by the employees of the State Security Service's Tashkent city department in collaboration with the Internal Affairs Department and the city's Internal Affairs Main Board.

During this operation, two individuals residing in Tashkent city were apprehended while selling counterfeit $18,800 for 141 million UZS, calculating each fake US dollar at 7500 UZS. Additionally, counterfeit $9,500 was seized from them as physical evidence.

Employees of the State Security Service's Tashkent region department, in collaboration with internal affairs agencies, conducted an urgent operation in the Akhangaran district.

Therein, a person from the Fergana region's Oltiaryk district, previously convicted of human trafficking and currently under probation supervision, agreed to sell counterfeit $20,000 for a real $14,000 and was detained at the moment of transferring counterfeit $12,000 to the buyer. Additionally, counterfeit $400 was officially seized from his residence.

During the operation, a “Nexia” brand car driven by his accomplice, who had arrived at the scene with him and resides in the Oltiaryk district, previously convicted, was inspected, and counterfeit $10,500 was found inside the vehicle. As a result of the urgent operation, a total of counterfeit $22,900 was documented in a procedural manner.

In an urgent operation conducted by the State Security Service employees in collaboration with the Department of the Prosecutor General's Office in the Tashkent district, two persons from the Andijan region were detained with physical evidence while selling counterfeit $20,000 for a real $8,000, calculating each fake US dollar at 40 real US dollars.

Criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals.
