Tashkent's eco inspectors take action against air-polluting vehicles

Administrative measures have been taken against 303 drivers, and fines have been imposed. The movement of over 200 vehicles has been temporarily stopped.

As part of the first stage of the "Clean Air" month, which has been ongoing in Tashkent since April 10, 58,822 vehicles underwent ecological inspection, the Ministry of Ecology reported.

The event is organized to ensure compliance with the requirements of Articles 16, 17, and 28 of the Law "On the Protection of Atmospheric Air" and Article 11 of the Law "On Environmental Control," as well as to carry out state ecological monitoring of the condition of vehicles.

As a result, it was found that 518 vehicles emitted harmful substances into the atmosphere above the norm.

A total of 50.1 million sums in fines have been imposed on 303 drivers under the relevant articles of the Administrative Code. In addition, the movement of 222 vehicles has been temporarily halted.

It is also noted that the first stage of this year's "Clean Air" month will last until May 10. During the event, a total of 200,000 vehicles are planned to undergo ecological inspection.
