Uzbekistan boosts trade with China and Russia

China and Russia remain Uzbekistan's primary trade partners, according to a report from the Statistics Agency.

Trade turnover with China reached $3.01 billion, of which $2.56 billion was for imports of goods and services, and $451.6 million was for the export of Uzbek products. Compared with last year, trade turnover increased by $646.1 million.

Trade turnover with Russia grew by $396 million to $2.8 billion. Imports from Russia increased by $427.2 million to $2.07 billion, while exports, conversely, decreased by $31.2 million to $720.9 million.

It is noted that Kazakhstan has become Uzbekistan's third-largest trading partner, potentially influenced by the shared border, trade within the CIS free trade zone, and the liberalization of mutual economic relations.

Over the past period, Uzbekistan increased exports to the neighboring country to $294.8 million (+5%) while purchasing goods and services worth $642.9 million (-20.4%).

Trade turnover with Germany has significantly decreased - by 2.5 times to $268.1 million, and with Turkey - by 1.3 times to $656.3 million.

Overall, in the first three months, the volume of foreign trade turnover amounted to $15.8 billion, which is $927.9 million (6.2%) more compared to the same period last year. Currently, Uzbekistan conducts trade relations with 184 countries worldwide. The share of foreign trade turnover with CIS countries was 32.2% and with other countries - 67.8%.
