During a three-day visit by a delegation of Afghan business circles to Uzbekistan, contracts worth $44 million were signed with local companies, as reported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It was noted that Afghanistan imports goods worth $7 billion annually. Agricultural products, foodstuffs, textiles, leather goods, electrical appliances, and building materials are in high demand. Uzbekistan is capable of occupying this niche by exporting various products.

As a result of productive negotiations between businessmen of the two countries, an agreement was reached to create an Uzbek-Afghan Business Council with the participation of representatives from 18 leading companies of the neighboring state.

It is highlighted that this council will expand and strengthen the collaboration between the business communities of both countries, create new platforms for interaction, increase the export volumes of products to Afghanistan, and attract new foreign investments.
