At the first stage of the program, two new free programming schools for children will open. One such school is already operating in Tashkent on the basis of an IT park for students in grades 8-10, and two more schools are planned to be launched in two other cities in the fall of 2024. One of them will be in Samarkand, a decision is planned on the location of the second.

Programming schools are aimed at those who already have basic knowledge of programming and are actively interested in IT, for example, planning to enter universities for IT specialties in order to connect their professional activities with the field of technology.

The second part of the program will be support for computer science teachers in Uzbekistan. For them, Yandex will open free programming courses and help them get acquainted with modern methods of teaching the subject. Up to 700 people will be able to take such courses.

Teachers will also have access to Yandex Problem Book – these are free materials for teachers on the Python programming language that can be integrated into the computer science lesson program at school.

“Teachers will be able to prepare for classes faster, and students will learn relevant knowledge faster and more effectively. The prepared materials are aimed at introducing the basics of programming, which will be useful in the modern digital world,” the company explained.

“Our program is aimed at creating a comprehensive solution-system that will improve the general level of education in the field of programming at the school level, as well as make specialized training in programming schools more accessible for everyone who wants to develop in the field of technology,” noted the director for the development of Yandex Taxi in the CIS, program sponsor, Kirill Svintsov.

The company plans to launch the program by the end of the year.
