Human trafficker from Uzbekistan detained in Russia
A 21-year-old migrant was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking in the city of Kirov.
The police of the Russian city of Kirov arrested a 21-year-old migrant suspected of human trafficking in Uzbekistan, Lenta reported with reference to the Russian MIA.
The man was wanted interstate, according to law enforcement officials. He was hiding from the investigative authorities of Uzbekistan on the territory of Russia. He admitted to the police that he was wanted for selling a girl.
It is noted that in Bukhara, a preventive measure of arrest in absentia was applied against him under Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (“Human trafficking”).
The issue of extradition of the human trafficker to Uzbekistan is under consideration.
