Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattarov wins tournament in Sweden
In the main round he scored 4.5 points, equaling the score with Arjun Erigaisi and Peter Svidler. And in the tiebreaker matches, Nodirbek was able to defeat both opponents and became the champion.
Nodirbek Abdusattarov became the champion of “Tepe Sigeman-2024” in Sweden.
The 19-year-old Uzbek chess player scored 4.5 points in the main round and beat Russian Peter Svidler and Indian Arjun Erigaisi in a tiebreaker
Chess player from Uzbekistan Nodirbek Abdusattarov rose to fourth place in the FIDE rating (Elo rating) at the end of March. He scored 2,765 points, ahead of the current world champion, Chinese Ding Liren (2,762) and other famous chess players. The first place in the world ranking is occupied by multiple world champion Norwegian Magnus Carlsen with 2,830 points.
For reference, 19-year-old Nodirbek Abdusattarov is the record holder among chess players in Uzbekistan. Before this, only Rustam Kosimjonov showed the highest result, taking 11th place with 2,715 points.
