Uzbekistan, Ireland discussing practical steps to realize existing cooperation potential
Yesterday, an online meeting took place between representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London and Sorcha Lauri, Deputy Director of the Irish Foreign Ministry’s unit for interaction with the European Neighborhood.
During the meeting, the Irish side was provided with detailed information about the large-scale changes being undertaken in New Uzbekistan in all spheres of life of society and the state.
During the conversation, the current state and prospects for further development of Uzbek-Irish cooperation were discussed.
Special attention was paid to the issues of intensifying bilateral political dialogue and cooperation within international organizations, expanding inter-parliamentary relations, diversifying interaction in the trade-economic and investment spheres, as well as strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, in particular in the field of education.
The parties reached an agreement to continue diplomatic contacts to discuss practical steps to implement the existing significant potential to expand interaction in the above areas.
It should be recalled that Uzbekistan and Ireland established diplomatic relations on November 7, 1997.
