Ministry of Transport plans to launch 10 international bus routes

Eight routes will connect regional centers with cities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

The Ministry of Transport plans to launch 10 new international bus routes by the end of this year, as reported by the ministry's press service.

These routes will primarily ensure travel between the regional centers and foreign cities in the nearby countries. New routes are expected to be opened to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Russia.

The list of proposed new destinations includes:

- Tashkent – Ufa
- Tashkent – Krasnodar
- Samarkand – Bishkek
- Bukhara – Bishkek
- Bukhara – Astana
- Samarkand – Turkestan
- Bukhara – Turkestan
- Shahrisabz – Turkestan
- Samarkand – Dushanbe
- Bukhara – Dushanbe

According to the ministry, there are currently 37 bus routes between cities in Uzbekistan and other CIS countries. In total, 196 buses operated by 32 local and foreign carriers run on these routes.

From January to April, 173,000 people were transported on international routes. This represents a 15% increase in passengers compared to the same period in 2023, the ministry noted.
