Qatar universities may allocate quotas for Uzbek students
Uzbekistan and Qatar are discussing the possibilities of developing bilateral relations in the field of education.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ashraf Khodjayev met with the Minister of Education and Higher Education of Qatar Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi.
The parties discussed the issues of allocating quotas for Uzbek students at Qatari universities and increasing their number, exchanges between schools and higher educational institutions of the two countries, organizing joint educational programs and scientific projects and research.
The minister also stated that one of the areas of cooperation could be the establishment of mutual exchanges between high school students. It is noted that in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of Qatar, in April last year, a group of Qatari school-age children visited Tashkent and Samarkand. Noting that this project was successfully implemented, the Qatari side expressed interest in organizing such events on an ongoing and mutual basis.
During the dialogue, Qatar also supported the proposal to conduct joint scientific research in areas that are considered relevant today.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to study the initiative to hold a forum of rectors of Uzbekistan and the Arab Gulf countries and to continue dialogue on a number of other projects in the field of education.
