President Mirziyoyev gets acquainted with results and projects in pharmaceutical industry
The President of Uzbekistan got acquainted with the results and projects in the pharmaceutical industry.
Today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the results of the work being done and the future plans for pharmaceuticals, Dunyo IA reports.
According to the press service of the head of our state, this industry, which is important for the economy and healthcare, is paid special attention, the necessary legal and organizational conditions are created. Only at the beginning of this year, two documents in this direction were adopted. In particular, in accordance with the presidential decree of January 10, the roadmap for 2024-2025 was approved for the development of the pharmaceutical industry and the acceleration of investment projects. The decree, adopted on January 23, identifies additional measures to regulate the pharmaceutical sector.
$100 million of low-cost resources have been allocated for new projects in the industry. In addition, Asakabank raised $200 million.
As a result of these opportunities, two projects worth $30.5 million have been launched in the past 4 months, and 160 jobs have been created. Production worth 1.5 trillion soums was produced. Exports worth $51 million were made.
But these results are still insufficient, and there is a lot of untapped potential. In particular, $400 million worth of production is planned this year and exports are expected to increase to $200 million. 147 projects worth $2 billion are scheduled to begin, of which 28 will be commissioned this year. It is planned to localize 450 new types of products.
The head of our state stressed the need to increase the level of saturation of the domestic market with domestic products.
Particular attention is paid to the transition of production to international standards and ensuring a balance of price and quality. To this end, the goal is to bring the industry's digitalization to 65% this year and complete it fully next year. It is noted that this will reduce prices by at least 20%.
Measures to intensify the activities of the innovative pharmaceutical cluster "Tashkent Pharma Park" and launch 12 projects worth $ 470 million were discussed.
Information is also provided on attracting investors to the pharmaceutical industry and increasing the number of new projects.
