40 representatives of Japanese contemporary art arrive in Tashkent

An evening of culture between Uzbekistan and Japan took place in front of the State Academic Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, one of the symbols of friendly Uzbek-Japanese relations.

This unique cultural event was organized for the first time by the Japanese-Uzbek Society for Economic, Cultural and Sports Relations with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of our country in Tokyo. 40 artists and representatives of contemporary art from Japan came to Uzbekistan to participate in the event.

The participants and guests of the evening were greeted by Advisor to the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Shavkat Artikov. He noted that relations between our country and Japan are developing rapidly. The historic visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Japan in December 2019 became an important basis for further strengthening bilateral ties, and tonight is a practical expression of warm friendship and mutual trust between the peoples of the two countries.

Chairman of the Japanese-Uzbek Society for Economic, Cultural and Sports Relations Tetsuro Yamasaka said that Uzbekistan fascinates him with its friendly and hospitable people, ample opportunities and unique culture, which contributes to the development of trade, economic, cultural ties, cooperation in the fields of sports and tourism. It is emphasized that the society is implementing a number of projects in these areas and the cultural evening of Uzbekistan and Japan is one of such important events that is planned to be held annually in the two countries.

After this, masters of art from Uzbekistan and Japan presented a concert program and national costumes of the two peoples. In particular, everyone was greatly impressed by the performance of the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, Japanese dances “Kagura”, “Sakura”, playing the flute and a fashion show.
