FM Saidov meets with IFAD President in Rome

“We visited the headquarters of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rome and met with the President of the fund, H.E. Alvaro Lario,” the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote on his Telegram channel. “Among the key topics of our conversation were maintaining close cooperation, attracting the best world knowledge and experience to our country, food security and industrial development of agriculture in Uzbekistan, and implementation of the IFAD country strategic program for 2023-2027”.

The delegation of Uzbekistan, led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, took part in the third ministerial conference in the “Italy – Central Asia” format on May 28-29 and held a number of bilateral negotiations in the city of Rome.

It should be recalled that IFAD was created in 1977 and Uzbekistan became its member in February 2011. In 2023-2027, a new country program of the fund for Uzbekistan is being implemented.
