During the spring season, more than 600,000 seedlings were planted in areas without irrigation systems. Some ministries, departments and sectors have not paid enough attention to planting activities, the Senate of Oliy Majlis stated.

On May 31, the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change reported on the work carried out on greening, tree planting and maintenance of areas within the framework of the national project “Green Space” at the meeting of the Senate’s Committee on Development of the Aral Sea Region and Ecology.

As mentioned, within the framework of the project, 125 million saplings were planted in the spring season, and 138.1 million bushes (110.5%) were planted. 253 water discharge wells and 2906 km long irrigation systems have been installed to irrigate seedlings. 991 special equipments are attached for irrigation in areas where there is no source of irrigation.

At the same time, according to preliminary data, more than 600,000 seedlings were planted in the spring season in places without irrigation systems. Care of seedlings, watering, prevention of emergence were not carried out sufficiently.

Although it was established that the financing of mechanical, biological and chemical control measures against diseases and pests of trees planted in the regions will be carried out at the expense of local budget funds and off-budgetary funds of ministries and agencies, this issue has not been resolved.

Administrations, ministries, offices and organizations have not implemented the practice of cutting trees planted in previous seasons, which have dried up due to natural and other factors, and replacing them with new seedlings.

At the end of the discussion, the relevant decision of the Committee was adopted, and a number of suggestions and recommendations were given to those responsible for eliminating the shortcomings.
