New Indian Ambassador Smita Pant assumes role in Uzbekistan
She presented copies of her credentials to the head of the Uzbekistan MFA, Bakhtiyor Saidov.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received the new Indian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Smita Pant.
At the meeting, the sides discussed joint efforts to expand relations in various fields, including agriculture, tourism, transportation, logistics, and other directions.
“Developing trade and investment cooperation remains our main goal. We wish Ambassador Pant success in uncovering the untapped potential of our bilateral relations," the head of Uzbekistan's MFA wrote on his Telegram channel.
Before arriving in Tashkent, Smita Pant worked as the Director of the Bangladesh and Myanmar Department at the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
Smita Pant replaced Manish Prabhat, who led the Indian embassy in Tashkent from 2020 to 2024.
