Dense smoke billows near MIA building in Tashkent
Thick smoke rose in the underground tunnel in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs building in Tashkent. The SUE "Toshkent Metropoliteni" reported that the fire was not related to the metro system.
“All instruments at the “Kosmonavtlar” station are operating normally,” the report reads.
According to the MES, the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit in the underground tunnel.
There were no casualties as a result of the incident.
Nine fire and rescue teams, as well as the Minister of Emergency Situations, arrived at the scene of the incident.
Earlier, a technical malfunction occurred in the electrical section of rolling stock car No. 40, which entered the “Kosmonavtlar” metro station, resulting in smoke under the train.
