Fire on a high-voltage power grid causes temporary power outages in Tashkent

As a result, three districts of the city and a number of mahallas in the Tashkent region were disconnected from electricity for more than 2 hours. According to authorities, the fire in the area of the high-voltage network occurred due to the fact that the network was working under heavy load in extreme heat.

On June 27, the Yunusabad, Almazar and Shaykhantakhur districts of the city of Tashkent, as well as some consumers in the Tashkent region, were disconnected from electricity for a certain period.

According to the Regional Electric Networks (REN), at 14:23 in Tashkent a malfunction occurred on the high-voltage overhead power lines L-DOK-1 and L-DOK-2. This accident is associated with a fire that occurred in the area of these networks.
 
The company then made a further announcement at 16:37, saying that the fault had been resolved and power had been restored to the affected areas.

The REN asked consumers to take precautions in protected areas of high-voltage electrical networks.

According to the Tashkent regional administration, the shutdown affected the mahallas of Nurkhayot, Majnuntol, Ozodlik, Iftikhor, Uchchinor, Masalboy, Khiyobon, Zargar, Sokhibkor, Kokterak, Khalimkop, Sagbon, A. Navoi, Kizgaldok, Farovon, Gulobod, Uchsada, Gultepa, Shirin, Chuvalachi, Navoi, Khuvaydo, Fayzobod, Okibat, Tinchlik, Birdamlik, Korasaroy, Kirarik, Bakhor, Hasanboy Guzari, Kensoy, Uroki Khasanboy, Avliyo-ota, Oydin Khayot, Khodjiota, Rahbarobod, Iqbol, Tutzor, Sabzavot, Darkhan, Ibrat, Bogbon, Ayriota, Kashkarlik, Mustakillik, Sanoat, Gisht Kuprik, Sirgali, Sarke.

According to Tashkent REN, the emergency situation arose due to increased demand for electricity, as well as due to the fact that the network was working under heavy load in extreme heat.
