President Mirziyoyev meets with Turkish investors, discusses green energy projects
On June 28, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by Mehmet Cengiz, Chairman of Cengiz Holding, and Cemal Kalyoncu, Chairman of Kalyon Holding, from Turkey.
At the meeting, the parties considered the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in the development and modernization of Uzbekistan’s economic sectors.
The outcomes of the Uzbekistan-Turkey Business Council meeting held during the president's recent visit to Ankara were acknowledged. The necessity to accelerate the execution of the agreements reached was emphasized.
The sides discussed plans for the implementation of promising projects in modernizing and building road infrastructure, establishing 'green' energy capacities, conducting joint geological explorations, and developing prospective mines.
It should be noted that two projects involving Cengiz Holding have been successfully completed in Uzbekistan – the commissioning of modern power plants with a total capacity of 460 megawatts in the regions of Tashkent and Syrdarya. In addition, the construction of another power plant in the Jizzakh region, with a capacity of over 500 megawatts, is ongoing.
