Senate to convene for 54th plenary session on July 10

On July 8, the next meeting of the Senate Council of Oliy Majlis was held. The meeting was led by Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva. It was decided to convene the fifty-fourth plenary session of the Senate on July 10, 2024.

A number of issues are expected to be discussed at the plenary session, which will be held using the video conference system.

The following laws will be considered at the plenary session:

-  On amendments and additions to some legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
-  On amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Employment of the Population”;
-  On making amendments to the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening responsibility for illegal handling of pyrotechnic articles;
-  On amendments and additions to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of additional measures for the prevention of offenses and crimes;
-  On amendments and additions to the Urban Planning Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the system of development of urban planning documents of state administration and settlements in the field of urban planning activity;
-  On making additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Licensing, Permitting and Notification Procedures” aimed at improving the activities of customs brokers and the delivery of international courier shipments;
-  On additions and amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Plant Quarantine” in connection with the easing of phytosanitary requirements;
-  On amendments and additions to some legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of state management in the field of education within the framework of administrative reforms;
-  On amendments and additions to some legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
-  On the ratification of agreements concluded with Turkmenistan and Turkey.

At the plenary meeting, senators will also discuss the work done in Tashkent city in connection with the development of entrepreneurship and the improvement of the environmental situation.

Also, it is considered to send a parliamentary request to the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the results of the parliamentary inquiry sent to the government regarding the improvement of the quality structure of the protected natural areas, the preservation of flora and fauna, and the state of cadastre management, as well as some issues of self-employment.
