UNODC Regional Representative for Central Asia completes her mission
Deputy FM of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Madrakhimov held a meeting with the regional representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Central Asia Ashita Mittal, who is completing her diplomatic mission.
According to the MFA, at the meeting the parties highly appreciated the established level of interaction between Uzbekistan and the UNODC, separately highlighting the areas of combating threats associated with illegal drug trafficking and use, organized crime, human trafficking and international terrorism.
During the conversation, Ashita Mittal’s contribution to strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNODC, as well as efforts to develop the department’s project activities, were noted.
In turn, Ashita Mittal emphasized her sincere gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for supporting her activities.
It should be recalled that Ashita Mittal headed the UNODC regional office in June 2014.
