Uzbekistan eases rules on exporting jewelry products

Individuals will be permitted to export finished jewelry products made from silver up to 200 grams, gold and other precious metals up to 65 grams, without submitting a jewelry workshop declaration from Uzbekistan.

A presidential decree has been issued regarding further development of the jewelry production sector and ensuring their competitiveness.

Starting from November 1, 2024:

➖ Jewelry products manufactured abroad, unless accompanied by documents confirming payment of customs duties, will not be allowed for sale and retail in the market. This regulation will be officially enforced until September 1, 2024, according to accounting regulations.
➖ A specific type of goods, including precious metals and alloys containing precious metals, will be listed for export under license.
➖ Unfinished jewelry products without the conclusion of authenticity inspection will be permitted to be taken out of Uzbekistan.
➖ Jewelry workshops may export finished jewelry products made from silver up to 200 grams, and gold and other precious metals up to 65 grams, without filling out a jewelry workshop declaration. Exceeding these amounts will require a declaration to export from Uzbekistan.
➖ From January 1, 2027, the import duty rates for jewelry workshops importing finished jewelry products to Uzbekistan will be reduced from 20% to 10%.

From January 1, 2025, specialized centers will be established in Tashkent City, Bukhara, Namangan, Samarkand, and Khorezm regions to provide services for the rapid verification of the authenticity of jewelry products.
