The Tashkent Arbitration Center will collaborate with the Arbitration Center of NCE "Atameken."
A regular meeting of the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan Business Council was held in Astana, as reported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Deputy Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dilshod Rasulov, and Head of the Kazakh Foreign Trade Chamber, Murat Karimsakov, co-chaired the event. The meeting was attended by the heads of industry associations and more than 70 business representatives from both countries.
The parties discussed the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and the role of business in this process. As of May 1, 1103 companies with Kazakh participation were operating in Uzbekistan.
Of these, 323 firms had joint venture status, while another 790 were wholly owned by Kazakh founders. Most of them operate in the areas of trade, transport and logistics, construction materials production, and consumer goods.
The meeting also explored potential cooperation in several promising areas, including industry, logistics, women's entrepreneurship, agriculture, and the food industry.
The Tashkent International Arbitration Center signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Arbitration Center of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken." This is expected to provide a legal framework for resolving disputes between businesses in the two countries.
Following the meeting, a joint protocol was signed. It includes provisions for opening a trade house and business center for Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan, as well as establishing an Uzbek-Kazakh business association in Tashkent.
