Uzbekistan and Afghanistan sign 35 trade and investment agreements worth $2.5 billion
Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have signed 35 memoranda of understanding worth $2.5 billion.
The signing ceremony was attended by Abdul Ghani Baradar, the acting Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan for Economic Affairs, and Abdulla Aripov, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, along with government officials and private sector representatives from both countries.
Among the deals, 12 memoranda of understanding are investment agreements totaling $1.4 billion, while 23 are trade contracts worth $1.1 billion.
Earlier, Kun.uz reported that on August 17, Uzbekistan's Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov arrived in Kabul.
According to Afghan media, they participated in an exhibition of Uzbek goods in Kabul. The visit also included discussions on establishing chambers of commerce in Kabul and Tashkent.
