New multimodal container route launched from Indian ports to Uzbekistan

Container transportation has been initiated along a new multimodal route connecting India and Uzbekistan.

Uztemiryulcontainer has launched a new multimodal route for container shipments from the Indian ports of Mundra, Nhava Sheva, and Chennai to Uzbekistan. The cargo was transported by sea from India to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas and then by rail to the Sergeli station.

The containers are first transported from the port of Bandar Abbas to the Sarakhs station on Iranian platforms, after which they are reloaded onto platforms of the "Uztemiryulcontainer" company and sent through Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan.

The first freight train, consisting of 20 containers, covered 2,673 kilometers in 20 days. In the future, delivery time is expected to be reduced to 15 days.
