Uzbekistan secures first gold at 2024 Paralympics as Asila Mirzayorova shatters long jump record
Paralympic athlete Asila Mirzayorova won the first gold medal for Uzbekistan at the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in Paris.

She set a new Paralympic record in the T11 long jump category, reaching a distance of 5.24 meters, surpassing her own previous record of 5.22 meters.
It is worth noting that the previous Paralympic record in this discipline was set at the 1996 Games in Atlanta. The record, which stood for 28 years, was held by a Spanish athlete, with a distance of 5.07 meters.
