Russian Prime Minister Mishustin to visit Uzbekistan
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin plans to visit Uzbekistan, according to the Russian ambassador to Tashkent, Oleg Malginov.
"An important event is ahead – the official visit of the Prime Minister to the Republic of Uzbekistan and a joint commission meeting at the level of heads of government. We are, of course, preparing for this event," Malginov said in an interview with Izvestia newspaper.
He recalled that after his official inauguration, Vladimir Putin visited Uzbekistan at the end of May, which was one of his first foreign trips.
"This was a very important, even epochal visit, during which more than 20 significant documents were signed, opening up new areas of cooperation and setting new goals for projects agreed upon by our presidents," Malginov said.
He also mentioned that further contacts are planned in the framework of multilateral events, including the meeting of CIS heads of state, and possibly during the BRICS summit in Russia, among other channels.
The Russian ambassador noted that four or five visits by regional delegations to Uzbekistan are expected in the near future to promote the implementation of specific projects.
