Uzbekistan completes negotiations on WTO membership with 18 countries
Uzbekistan completed negotiations with 18 countries within the framework of WTO accession, with 14 of them signed protocols on completion of market access negotiations.
Uzbekistan has concluded negotiations with 18 countries on WTO membership. Azizbek Urunov, the special representative of the President of Uzbekistan on WTO issues, Gazeta.uz reported.
Negotiations with Argentina ended on September 13. Protocols on the completion of negotiations on market access have been signed with 14 of the 18 countries (the process will be officially completed when the protocol is signed). Two of these countries are Brazil and Sri Lanka.
Within the framework of the WTO public forum, document signing ceremonies were held with the participation of Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev, WTO Deputy Director General Xianchen Zhang and former Deputy Director General Alan Wolff. The delegation of Uzbekistan led by Saida Mirziyoyeva is participating in the WTO 2024 public forum in Geneva.
