Senate Chair Tanzila Narbayeva vows continued assistance to families of deceased workers in Boysun mine incident
Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, expressed her condolences to the families of the workers who died as a result of the accident at the gas mine in Boysun. According to her, a special order has been given to ensure the support of the victims' families.
"On September 1, during drilling operations at the '25th Anniversary of Independence' gas mine in Boysun district, Surkhandarya region, a technological malfunction led to the release of hydrogen sulfide gas. This issue is currently at the center of public attention, and we are all aware of it.
We lost some of our citizens, and we extend our deepest sympathies to their families. Their families are under the care of our state and our president; we have all heard this. A special order has also been issued to ensure their support, and they will not be abandoned. We express our condolences in this matter as well," said Tanzila Narbayeva during the Senate's plenary session on September 20.
In a second accident that occurred at the M25 mine on September 17, four people were killed, and 11 were injured.
According to Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, compensation will be paid to the families of the deceased workers, and the contractor organization will take responsibility for financially supporting their children, educating them, and providing them with employment. The contractor company has not provided any comments on this matter.
