Over 10 students hospitalized with suspected infections after consuming contaminated water in Almalyk
More than 10 students were hospitalized with suspected acute intestinal infections after drinking water.

According to the Children's Ombudsman, students at a specialized school in Almalyk City complained of health issues and were admitted to the infectious diseases ward after consuming unfiltered water on school premises. Between September 15 and September 19, 12 students were suspected of having acute intestinal infections.
It has been confirmed that the students' health is now improving, and seven of them have been discharged to continue treatment at home.
The Tashkent Region Department of Sanitary-Epidemiological Safety and Public Health Service of the Ministry of Health is conducting an investigation into the incident. Samples of water, food products, and other materials have been taken for chemical analysis.
Additionally, the Regional Department of Preschool and School Education has formed a working group to study the situation. The Almalyk District Prosecutor's Office is also conducting a pre-investigation inquiry into the matter.
