Uzbekistan and CICA explore strengthening regional ties for peace and prosperity
Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Ambassador Kairat Sarybay, in New York.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for further development of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
"We thoroughly discussed how to make regional cooperation even more effective, especially in the economic dimension. We believe that enhanced interaction, regular exchanges, and strong business ties contribute to peace and prosperity for all," Saidov write on his Telegram channel.
CICA is an international forum focused on strengthening cooperation to ensure peace, security, and stability in Asia. Currently, CICA includes 28 member states, representing about 90% of Asia’s territory and population. Additionally, 10 countries and 5 international organizations, including the UN and OSCE, hold observer status. The CICA Secretariat is located in Astana, Kazakhstan.
