President Mirziyoyev emphasizes need for closer ties in security with China
On September 26, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a high-ranking delegation from the People’s Republic of China, led by Chen Wenqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Commission.
According to the presidential press service, at the start of the meeting, Chen Wenqing conveyed the warm regards and best wishes of President Xi Jinping to President Mirziyoyev.
During the talks, the parties discussed advancing Uzbek-Chinese relations of friendship and all-weather strategic partnership, particularly in light of the decisions made at the highest levels of both countries. A key area of discussion was the expansion of practical cooperation and the strengthening of coordination in security matters, addressing both traditional and emerging threats, including terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, cybercrime, and drug trafficking.
President Mirziyoyev praised the outcomes of the recent first session of the Uzbek-Chinese Cooperation Mechanism on Law Enforcement and Security, which took place during this period, marking a significant step in deepening bilateral ties in these critical areas.
The leaders also exchanged views on pressing regional issues, reinforcing the need for enhanced collaboration to tackle shared security challenges.
