Turkish company Sam Yapi to open two dialysis clinics in Uzbekistan

The announcement followed a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Health, Farhod Tashpulatov, and representatives of Sam Yapi during an international PPP conference held in Istanbul. Sam Yapi Group presented its medical services and expressed interest in establishing hemodialysis centers in Uzbekistan’s regions, which led to the signing of a memorandum of cooperation.

This initiative marks another significant step in Uzbekistan’s effort to expand healthcare services through partnerships with international medical providers. In 2020, the government launched a tender for four dialysis centers under the PPP model, which was awarded to Indian firm Nephroplus, supported by nearly $8.4 million in funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Nephroplus has already opened several dialysis centers across Uzbekistan, including a 160-bed facility in Tashkent in August 2023. The company aims to make dialysis more affordable for Uzbekistan’s population, lowering the cost per procedure from $80 to $50, potentially saving the government around $5 million annually.

This growing interest in healthcare projects reflects Uzbekistan’s commitment to improving medical infrastructure, with international firms like Sam Yapi and Nephroplus playing a vital role in providing accessible and high-quality healthcare services.
