Uzbekistan's state budget deficit reaches 37.3 trillion UZS

Uzbekistan's state budget reported a deficit of 37.3 trillion UZS for the year as of September, with revenues totaling 26.665 trillion UZS and expenditures reaching 27.136 trillion UZS. These figures represent the highest levels recorded for both revenue and expenditure this year.

According to the monthly reports from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the total revenues for the first nine months of 2024 amounted to 186.3 trillion UZS, while total expenditures were 223.7 trillion UZS, resulting in the accumulated deficit.

A detailed breakdown of the budget figures for 2024 shows:

  • January: Revenues – 16.159 trillion UZS; Expenditures – 21.927 trillion UZS; Deficit – 5.767 trillion UZS
  • February: Revenues – 16.909 trillion UZS; Expenditures – 24.137 trillion UZS; Deficit – 7.228 trillion UZS
  • March: Revenues – 17.457 trillion UZS; Expenditures – 24.307 trillion UZS; Deficit – 6.850 trillion UZS
  • April: Revenues – 19.286 trillion UZS; Expenditures – 25.027 trillion UZS; Deficit – 5.741 trillion UZS
  • May: Revenues – 22.749 trillion UZS; Expenditures – 26.565 trillion UZS; Deficit – 3.816 trillion UZS
  • June: Revenues – 23.233 trillion UZS; Expenditures – 27.879 trillion UZS; Deficit – 4.646 trillion UZS
  • July: Revenues – 21.815 trillion UZS; Expenditures – 24.332 trillion UZS; Deficit – 2.517 trillion UZS
  • August: Revenues – 22.066 trillion UZS; Expenditures – 22.348 trillion UZS; Deficit – 0.282 trillion UZS
  • September: Revenues – 26.665 trillion UZS; Expenditures – 27.136 trillion UZS; Deficit – 0.471 trillion UZS

Looking ahead, the state budget law for 2024 projects revenues of 270.4 trillion UZS and expenditures of 280.7 trillion UZS, resulting in a planned consolidated budget deficit of 52.6 trillion UZS, equivalent to 4% of the GDP.

Additionally, it has been reported that the subsidies allocated for gas in 2024 were fully utilized in the first half of the year.
