Czech Foreign Minister to visit Uzbekistan
Jan Lipavský, the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs, is set to embark on a diplomatic trip to Kazakhstan on October 21 and Uzbekistan on October 22.
During his visit to Kazakhstan, Lipavský will meet with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and hold discussions with Foreign Minister Murat Nurtileu. The talks will focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, defense industry, and the development of air transport.
On October 22, in Uzbekistan, Lipavský will deliver a lecture at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. Following this, he will engage in negotiations with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojaev.
This marks the first visit by a Czech foreign minister to Uzbekistan since 1995. The Czech government highlighted Uzbekistan's ongoing efforts towards digitalization and modernization, areas where Czechia is keen to share its expertise.
