Uzbekistan’s Consulate calls for increased caution by citizens in Türkiye after recent terror attack
In response to a recent terror attack in Ankara, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul has advised Uzbek citizens in Türkiye to remain vigilant and adopt safety measures in public areas.
The advisory follows the October 23rd attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc., an aerospace and defense company located on the outskirts of the Turkish capital, where five people were killed and 22 others sustained injuries.
Uzbek nationals have been urged to exercise heightened caution, particularly in high-traffic areas such as airports, railway stations, bus terminals, docks, metro stations, and other forms of public transportation. Citizens are reminded to adhere to local safety protocols and be mindful of their surroundings to prevent potential security risks.
For Uzbeks departing Türkiye, the consulate recommends arriving at airports at least an hour prior to the check-in time for their flights to allow for additional security procedures.
The consulate also emphasized the importance of promptly reporting any suspicious items or individuals to police or security personnel (Özel güvenlik) to help maintain public safety.
