Three dead from carbon monoxide poisoning in Karakalpakstan
Three people, including a young married couple and their guest, have died from carbon monoxide poisoning in the city of Nukus, Karakalpakstan, according to Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General's Office.
The incident, reported on October 18 at approximately 7:51 a.m., involved a 25-year-old man identified as A.Y., his 23-year-old wife M.Y., and a 27-year-old guest A.T., who were found dead at their residence in Apartment 33 of Building 3/6 in Nukus District 23.
Medical personnel from the Emergency Medical Center of Karakalpakstan initially reported the incident to local law enforcement, citing carbon monoxide poisoning as the cause.
Following an investigation, authorities confirmed that the individuals had succumbed to carbon monoxide exposure, which had leaked from the boiler exhaust. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to establish further details surrounding the incident.
