Uzbekistan plans to boost textile exports to India
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustamboyev met with the Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles of India, Pabitra Margherita, to discuss expanding Uzbekistan’s textile exports, particularly knitwear, to the Indian market.
The talks were held as part of preparations for Bharat Tex, a major international exhibition scheduled to take place in India in February 2025. Rustamboyev highlighted Uzbekistan's recent advancements in textile and light industry reforms, emphasizing the adoption of modern technologies in manufacturing to produce competitive, high-value products for the global market.
The discussion focused on enhancing textile sector cooperation and increasing the volume of Uzbek knitwear and other goods in the Indian market.
The parties also reviewed plans for Uzbekistan’s active participation in Bharat Tex 2025, including a dedicated presentation of Uzbekistan’s textile and light industry capabilities and facilitating negotiations between business leaders from both countries.
