New law bans advertising of unlicensed traditional medicine practices

A new law in Uzbekistan prohibits the advertisement of unapproved traditional medicine practices, imposing fines or up to 15 days of detention for those who profit from such unauthorized treatments.

The amendments, signed into law by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, introduce administrative penalties for individuals without a valid license in traditional medicine who diagnose or treat patients.

Additionally, penalties will apply to those promoting or delivering these services in exchange for material gains, despite lacking authorization to do so.

The legislation aims to curb unregulated traditional healing practices and protect citizens from unverified medical claims.

Under the new law, public promotion of unapproved treatment methods in traditional medicine is now strictly forbidden.
